What does K Taping actually do?
Kinesiology Taping (or as it is also referred to as: kt taping, k taping, sports taping and athletic taping), is the use of an elastic tape, applied with tension, used most often on athletes to help reduce muscle strains and tightness.
How long does K Taping last?
Most applications of K tape last up to three to five days. The tape is water-resistant, so you can shower, swim and train as normal without removing it.
Does K Taping work, or is it all a placebo?
Evidence is mixed. It reliably helps short-term pain and movement confidence. Claims about strength or circulation are far weaker. We use it to support treatment, not replace it.
Why is K Taping done?
Before competition, to protect a known problem area
After competition, to manage soreness and swelling
Between sessions, to extend the benefit of a sports massage
